2016/17 Season


The League winners were the Red Post who have now won the league as a team for the last 6 years, a league record. The first of those years was at Peasedown Cricket Club. The team is captained by Andy Wilcox and has been joined by Chris Allen and Andy Hughes for all 6 seasons. Mark Furber (5) and Colin Clark (4) are also still with the team.

League Runners up were the Crown Exiles, the team captained by Andy Biggs since leaving the 'Tyning Exiles' are 3 times runners up and the last team to win the league apart from the Red Post

After the 1st half of the season the league split into 2 divisions and the 2nd Division was won by High Littleton Rec, an new team with players mostly new to league darts, captained by Greg Easton.

The Knockout Trophy was won by the Red Post who completed a 3rd League and Cup double in 6 years, they defeated last years winners Riverside B in the final. 

The Subsidiary Cup was won by the Crown Jewell's for the 2nd time since its introduction in 2014. They defeated Riverside A in the final in the deciding pairs game!

Martin Sawyer Champion Singles

This prestigious local title has been won by Andy Hughes for the 3rd year in a row which we think is a league record! He beat 2011 champion Lee Gregory 4-1 in the final.

To get to the final Andy beat Mark Branson and Lee Gregory defeated 1994 champion Stu Wollacott. The losing Qtr finalists were Gary Witcombe, Mark Colbourne, Mike Sampson and Glyn Bryant

Tony Townsend Memorial Pairs Trophy

The Pairs was won for a second year running by Gary Witcombe and Lee Gregory. They defeated previous winners Chris Allen and Andy Wilcox in a tight game. 


Over 50's winner was Gary Witcombe overturning his loss to Chris Allen last year. These two first qualified for the over 50's last year and are already dominating it. Lots of call's for an over 65's now !

The Ladies Winner was once again Kate Hulme for a 4rd succesive year and 7 many in total for the former World Youth Champion. Paula Hoddinott was runner up to Kate for a 2nd time.


The new Threes Comp was won by a Crown Exiles team consisting of Andy Biggs; Gary Witcombe and Mark Branson.  Runners up were the Red Post team of Ash Sandon-James; Anthony and Andy Hughes

The Threes is all played on one night using a singles/pairs/triples format and is now in its 4th year in this format.


Anthony Hughes and Jamie Dando were our Blind Pairs Winners for the season. 

The Blind Pairs event takes place the week before x-mas and has been going for 5 years. The draw is seeded with two pots of players based on position in the Players Table.
