The Radstock 'Ripples' are the longest running of the three locally based Superleague teams that play in the Somerset Superleague. Radstock shirts are sponsored by Techniglaze and currently play out of Peasedown Cricket Club. Matches are once a month on a Saturday night. Radstock have won the Somerset Superleague twice in the last 5 years including last season - 2016/17.
Team finished Second to Bath and Bristol in a close season.
As winners of the Somerset Super League in 2016/17 it meant we all went up to Rotherham on the 2nd July to play in the BDO Champions Cup.
We did ourselves proud and won 3 out of 4 games in the Round Robin Groups. Unfortunately only 1 team went through from each Group but it was a great day and everyone played and supported well.
The team that went up were:
Andy Wilcox, Dave Burrill, Gary Witcombe, Andy Hughes, Ash Sandon-James, Simon Wilmott, Mike Gregory, Lee Gregory, Greg Easton, Mark Hillier, Sam Hoddinott, Steve Hoddinott. We were fortunate to travel up with some WAG's as well to support us! (that includes James Bennett ! )
Lee Gregory was our 'Man of the Match' on the day winning 4 out of 4 games. Steve Hoddinott also had a 100% record of 3 out of 3.
Regular players in the season that sadly could not make it were Ant Hughes (ill), Matt Warren and the Smith's Lee and Martin. Paul Blackstone, Steve Hardie and Scott Hillier were the other players who also played during this winning season.
